Jill Ballew – 2022 Designer Of The Year

The team at High Country Drapery Designs is excited to announce our Principal Designer and CEO, Jill Ballew, was chosen as Vision Magazine’s 2022 Designer of the Year.
Over two dozen interior designers and workrooms from 10 states were honored for their excellence in drapery design, motorized window treatment installations, combination and top treatments, and more.
“Window treatments are the jewelry of the home—the finishing touch that makes a room look beautiful and welcoming,” said Grace McNamara, owner and publisher of Window Fashion VISION. “They also play a functional role, providing light and UV control, privacy and, in some cases, greater energy efficiency. We love to honor the professionals who are doing excellent work with these important products through our program every year.”
In addition to winning the 2022 Designer of the Year Award, Jill also won 1st Place in the Categories of “Soft Shades” and “Motorization”. Jill has been working in the Interior Design industry for over 25 years and this level of expertise shows. It takes a wealth of knowledge and skill to create beautiful custom window treatments. Jill brings that knowledge and expertise to Designers and Homeowners throughout the Southeast.
Vision Magazine focuses wholly on window treatments, style and inspired designed. So we are thrilled they’ve chosen Jill as their 2022 Designer of the Year. Like many, Jill began her career designing and creating for herself. When friends and family saw her designs and impeccable attention to detail, they asked if she could design and create something for their homes. Jill’s design passion moved from being a side hustle to a full time career and High Country Drapery Designs was born. Jill services the perfect niche because many Designers need assistance in creating custom window treatments. It’s often difficult to know whether a certain type of treatment, fabric or application will work in a specific space.
That’s where Jill’s experience and expertise come in.
Jill serves as an important resource for Designers and Homeowners alike bringing her knowledge and commitment to excellence to every project. She takes ownership of every step of the process from measuring and planning the treatments to the final installation. The client’s pride of ownership is of paramount importance to Jill and her team.
